Colorado bluegrass group WhiteWater Ramble returns to Billings to perform Saturday starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Garage Pub at Yellowstone Valley Brewing Co., 2123 First Ave. N.
They were last in Billings in August as an opener for Railroad Earth at the Babcock Theatre. WhiteWater Ramble bill themselves as "high-octane Rocky Mountain dancegrass.'' Tickets are $5 at the door.
WhiteWater Ramble use a simple recipe to craft their bluegrass instrumentation, add drums, and a boundary-less approach to grassing-up everything from house grooves to reggae. The Colorado-bred quintet combines the elements of mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar, upright bass, drums and vocals to explore the musical boundaries of multiple musical genres.
WWR has had the privilege of opening and sharing stages with Michael Franti, Little Feat, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Dark Star Orchestra, Hot Buttered Rum, The Gourds and others.
