The 2009 Corks & Canvas, "A Night On the Trail," is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, at the White Aspen Ranch located on 56th Street West. This event is designed to support the Billings Ronald McDonald House, which provides comfort and care to hundreds of children and their families being treated in one of our outstanding medical facilities.

The night will began with wine tasting by Merry Cellars and the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of the Peach Pickers. This will give the riders time to meet the artist, Harry Koyama, and vintners from Merry Cellars.

The event will feature Koyama's original piece of artwork, "Best Friend," that has been placed on the labels of Merry Cellars wine that will be sampled and sold by the case as well as by the bottle. The original piece will be featured in the live auction as well as limited-edition signed canvas and giclee prints of the original artwork will also be for sale.

Another exciting auction item will be a miniature Hereford steer named Little Mac, donated by Jo Young and the Miniature Hereford Association. Little Mac hopes to visit the children at the Ronald House the week of the event.

"Best Friend" was painted for the fundraiser. This is the third year that the Billings Ronald McDonald House has received a donated painting by Koyama.

Added this year to the event will be entertainment by Prickly Pair, which was nominated for six Western Music Association awards for 2009. The music of Prickly Pair speaks of the "cowfolk" experience of the West. The group will sing and fiddle.
