A Crow Agency man accused of robbing the TeePee Service store at Crow Agency admitted federal charges Wednesday.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Suek said Jeremiah Paul Stewart, 24, was drinking with a cousin, Joral Stewart, on Aug. 30, 2006, when they took a relative's car and decided to rob the convenience store. Stewart grabbed a toy guy that was in the car, tied part of a ripped shirt over his face and entered the store. He pointed the toy gun at the clerk and began wrestling with the employee.

Joral Stewart thought his cousin had been caught and started to drive away but stopped when he heard his cousin yell. Jeremiah Stewart got in the car and the two drove off. The toy gun was recovered at the store and DNA testing of the shirt confirmed that the robber was Jeremiah Stewart, Suek said. The clerk also identified Jeremiah Stewart as the robber.

Jeremiah Stewart remains in custody and faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for robbery. Senior U.S. District Judge Jack Shanstrom set sentencing for Oct. 14.

Joral Stewart, who was charged with being an accessory after the fact, pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
