Schreibeis, a product of Billings West High School, has made plenty of big catches as a tight end at Montana State. Strangely, he has never been in the end zone. This year, Schreibeis has been on the receiving end of several balls from quarterbacks Mark Iddins and Cody Kempt. Schreibeis, now a senior, hopes he can make a big impact today as the Bobcats play at Portland State

On the quarterback situation at MSU …

"We've got two pretty good quarterbacks. Both have done well for us. I think both of them are good enough to be the starting guy. It's kind of a week to week thing. Last week Mark was able to really calm things down and make some big completions. The week before Cody did the same thing. Cody's a little more versatile but both are really good. It's tough to give the edge to one or the other."

On today's game at Portland State …

"I really like playing in Portland. It's a great place to play. That team hasn't won too many games but they're fairly dangerous. Their offense is pretty good and they can put a lot of points up. Our defense needs to shut them down and our offense needs to be productive as well. They run a 3-4 defense and they blitz from just about everywhere. We've got to be on top of all that and be able to pick up all their different looks."

On not having a touchdown catch …

"I don't have a good answer. I've been able to pick up a lot of first downs, but I just never have seemed to be able to get into end zone. It'd be nice to get in there before I'm done playing. We always seem to score enough points anyway. When the opportunity comes I'll jump on it, but it hasn't happened yet."

On his relationship with Montana QB Andrew Selle …

"We don't keep in contact too much. When I'm back in Billings I see him around. I really like Andrew Selle. He's a great guy and a great quarterback for those guys. One of my best friends in high school was Kevin Klaboe, the fullback over (at Montana). We've got the Cat-Griz thing and there's a lot of animosity involved but you remember those guys are good guys and you keep your friendships."

On the Bobcats' playoff chances …

"To make sure we get into the playoffs we're going to have to win the next three games and make sure we finish strong. We've got to take care of Portland State and then Sacramento State, and then it's going to be an all out fight to win the Cat-Griz game. If we win that we should be pretty automatic. If we complete that, it'll be time to start thinking about our other goals."
