Joliet rallies to down Scobey, 39-26

JOLIET - Quarterback Zach Wogamon passed for three touchdowns to help Joliet rally past Scobey 39-26 in the first round of the Class C playoffs Saturday.

Wogamon had touchdown passes of 56, 9 and 23 yards. The J-Hawks trailed 20-12 at the end of the first quarter and 26-24 at halftime.

The Joliet defense kept Scobey scoreless in the third and fourth quarters. Michael Robinson had 19 tackles for Joliet. He also scored three touchdowns, rushed for 77 yards and had 101 yards receiving. Jordan Luoma added 12 tackles and a quarterback sack on defense, along with catching a touchdown pass.

Wibaux 53, Harlowton-Ryegate 16

WIBAUX - Junior tailback Collin Harrell rushed 12 times for 108 yards and three touchdowns in the first half Saturday as No. 1 -ranked Wibaux rolled to a 53-16 win over unranked Harlowton-Ryegate in the opening round of the Class C state football playoffs.

The Longhorns, 9-0, will play host to Fort Benton in Saturday's quarterfinals.

Harrell tallied his TDs on runs of 17, 1 and 26 yards as Wibaux built a 47-0 halftime margin.

Wibaux's junior quarterback Jaylen Sokoloski completed 6 of 9 passes for 148 yards in the first half, including two scoring strikes. He also ran for a TD.

"Our offensive line did a real nice job of creating some lanes for our running backs to run the ball," Wibaux coach Jeff Bertelsen said. "Our pass protection was very good."

Twin Bridges 56, Ekalaka 32

EKALAKA - Twin Bridges bolted to a 28-6 first-quarter lead and defeated Ekalaka 56-32 Saturday in the first round of the Class C playoffs.

Twin's Hayes Novich rushed for two touchdowns.

Pat Hansen scored three times for Ekalaka, including a 79-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. Teammate Clint Mrnak added two scoring runs.

CENTERVILLE - Michael Doran ran for three touchdowns and Sam Rutherford ran for three scores and caught another score as Centerville defeated Victor 72-0.

Rutherford scored on runs of 7, 5 and 19 yards and caught a 67-yard touchdown from Jared Mayernik as Centerville scored all its points in the first half.

Doran's touchdown runs came from 27, 47 and 69 yards. He rushed for 138 yards on just five carries, and Mayernik completed 6 of 7 passes for 171 yards.

Fort Benton 74, Arlee 16

FORT BENTON - Nathan Maughan scored three touchdowns and Derek Kittredge threw for two scores and ran for another as fifth-ranked Fort Benton rolled to a victory over Arlee in a first-round playoff game.

Maughan scored on runs of 10 and 35 yards and caught a 7-yard TD pass from Kittredge.

Kittredge also threw a 7-yard TD pass to Riley Shaw and scored on a 30-yard jaunt.

Shaw and Jackson Bramlette scored two TDs each for the Longhorns, who led 32-8 at the end of the first quarter and 56-16 at halftime.

Fort Benton (9-1) had 308 yards of total offense, 241 coming on the ground.

Arlee (5-3) rushed for 58 yards and gained only two through the air.

The Warriors' Dylan Moran returned a kickoff 70 yards for a TD and score on a 2-yard run.

Fort Benton will meet top-ranked Wibaux in the quarterfinals on Saturday in Wibaux.

CHARLO - Quarterback Chico Stipe passed for 90 yards and two scores as No. 7 Charlo beat No. 9 Power-Dutton-Brady in the opening round of the Class C playoffs.

Stipe also had 85 yards rushing and ran in a two-point conversion to cap the Vikings go-ahead score.

Jame Peterson caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Stipe in the first quarter to start the scoring.

Charlo (8-1) plays at No. 4 Sheridan (9-0) Saturday.

With the win, the fourth-ranked Panthers are now 9-0 and will play seventh-ranked Charlo next weekend.

Sheridan scored 20 points in the final period to rally for the win.
