UGF wrestling wins 3 duals

SPOKANE, Wash. — The University of Great Falls wrestling squad won three duals in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Friday and on Saturday won the Inland Northwest Collegiate Wrestling Tournament.

At the tourney the Argos placed 16, placing at least one wrestler in every weight division except heavyweight on their way to 354 points. Alex Calvi (197), Michael French (184), Brendon DeCock (174), Ross Mosher (157), Brian Borst (125) and Byron Kuylen (149) all won their weight classes.

Myles Mazurkiewicz  (133) was a runner-up, as was Akmal Adilov (125), Michael Hader (157) and Scott Lucas (197).

UGF’s other placers were Jason Pence (3rd at 174), Patrick Neal (4th at 125), Jeremy Montang (4th at 157), Noah Hatton (4th at 165), Kyle Middlemist (5th at 133) and John Burns (6th at 174).

The Argos, ranked fourth in the preseason NAIA poll, only lost two matches in three duals Friday, besting San Jose State (48-0), Yakima Valley Community College (43-3) and North Idaho (43-3). The Cardinals are currently ranked second in the nation for junior colleges.
